10 Reasons Your Weight Should NOT Define You

1. Weighing yourself is only one measurement of health. It does not factor in your height, your build, your body fat, your lean muscle tissue or your bone density.

2. Muscle weighs more than fat. 150 pounds of muscle looks really different than 150 pounds of fat.  Your body composition is much more important than your body weight.

3. If you weigh yourself on different scales at different times of the day, you don’t have a consistent point of reference.  There’s no way to tell which one, if any, is accurate.

4. Your weight doesn’t measure how you look or feel. If you genuinely feel good, have lots of energy, have a healthy self-esteem and you feel healthy…there is a good chance you are healthy!  In other words, being realistic and observant goes much further than the number on a scale.

5. Normal weight can fluctuate around 3-5 pounds in a day.  It’s difficult to know if you’ve really lost/gained weight or if its water weight that is changing the number you see.

6. The cheaper the scales, the less accurate they are. Most domestic bathroom scales are inaccurate – usually on the light side.

7. The thought of weighing yourself can cause sever anxiety.  Stepping on the scale means whatever you decide it means- If you think and believe it will be a stressful experience, it will be.

8. One pound of junk food weighs as much as one pound of veggies.  The number on the scale is not an indicator of how healthy you are eating and what kind of fuel you are giving your body.  The better you eat, the better you look, feel, and live.

9.Weight does not indicate hydration.  It is important to stay hydrated and avoid sodium so as not to retain the water and allow it to flush out the toxins in your body.  If you are dehydrated you may weigh less on the scale, but obviously continual lack of water in the body can cause major health problems.

10. YOU ARE MORE THAN JUST A NUMBER.  You are a beautiful intelligent creature that does not deserve to be boxed into any category because of a number.

Remember It doesn't matter if you're a size 2 or size 32, or anything in-between, you are BEAUTIFUL whatever size you are! The important thing is to celebrate what YOU have, embrace the body your soul resides in. ♥
